Finally on the mend...I am sure this time.

Just when I thought she was on the mend she woke up from her afternoon nap yesterday and she was very sickly. We went to Wal-Mart to fill the prescription we got. Looks like it is a sinus infection. She is doing much much better this morning. She seems to get worse later in the afternoon so we will see if the drugs are really working after she gets up from her nap this afternoon. I hate to give her medication of any kind, but in this case, it was the only option. I knew something was up (more than a common cold) when she refused to eat anything. I ended up taking her to the Dr.'s (2 hours later we actually saw someone...grrrrr). Even though she was so ill she managed to make the waiting room laugh a few times...go figure. We had to go to Emergency since we could not get in to see anyone from her clinic. We were waiting in a 'curtain' room and whenever she would see someone walking by the curtain she was scream...SHOE while pointing. A few nurses had to peek in to see and then the show was on - smiling, giggling and generally being a little comedian. If it wasn't for the pound of green goo coming out of each nostril I am sure they would have sent me to the psych ward - this child is not sick...hahaha.
Anyway, the first pictures were taken before the medicine kicked in and the last ones were taken after a few doses of the bright pink stuff (Amoxil) she thinks is rather tasty. What a difference.

And After...Party Time!!! I feel much better Mom.

More importantly...Kailey is feeling much better. This was an awful virus that appeared to be going away and then came back with a vengeance. Poooor little k-bear.

Boo Hoo!

Just a couple of things I wanted to share.

-Whenever Kailey is whining for no apparent reason - just to hear herself complain, I will say to her, 'oh, boo hoo'. The other day I was complaining to Jack about something when we were leaving the mall and she turns her head around in the stroller and she looks me in the eyes and says..."BOO HOO" then shakes her head....wow. Maybe this was a fluke but maybe she recognized me whining. I cracked up.

-I bought her a little potty and set it up in the bathroom across from the real one and she was thrilled as heck to sit in it and watch the world go by. She has been tugging at her diaper when it is wet so I thought I would give her a chance to try it out - no pressure. Before her bath 2 days ago I was undressing her and she was determined to keep her boots on so I thought I would sit her on the potty. She used this time to admire her shoes and then she stood up beside the potty and peed on the floor and her boots. She was not thrilled and I could see her wheels turning. She proceeded to try to pick up the drops of pee (yuck) and flick them in the bowl....Ummmmm...close Kailey, but not quite what I was after. This reminds me of when she uses a fork, she will poke the food and bring it up to her mouth then take the food off and eat it. hahaha

-She had a 'shoe meltdown' the other day in our favorite store. She spotted some new bling bling sneakers (tons of jewels and rhinestones...extremely tacky)...she points and says in a very excited voice, "shoe..shoe". I hand her the shoe from the display and she says 'Oh...WOW'. She takes her boot off and tries to put it on and then admires her foot. When the time came to leave and put the shoe back on the display she was more than displeased with life. While crying she was reaching out and between sniffles saying 'sh--ooooooeeee". Poor kid but there was no way I was going to cave as much as I wanted to buy them for her.

-We bought her crayons and a Princess coloring book yesterday afternoon. She was totally thrilled and sat on my lap 'coloring' for almost an hour. She would drop one by accident on the floor and she would say 'oh' and want down to pick it up and then would race over to me and say 'up..up..up". She loved looking through the colors and was really puzzled at the white one...is it broken?..hahaha. She was concentrating and I am sure in her mind she was creating a masterpiece. While she was sitting there working my stomach was flipping and my heart was pounding....SHE IS GROWING UP SO FAST. Slow down little K. I feel so lucky and so much love for this curly haired little lady.

-She always wants her hair brushed & cream put on. She grabbed one of her pink crayons and tried to put it on me like it was lipstick. She swiped my lips a few times and said 'oh and awww'.

-I got a massive hair-cut this weekend (I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT) and the minute Kailey saw me she had to inspect it and, thankfully, she gave me her approval. It is a layered bob about chin length. I will post some pictures at some point.

-She thinks by holding the nail clippers to her toes and making a clicking noise she is actually giving herself a pedicure.

-She has her third canine. Still waiting for the final one and it is being rather stubborn. The poor kid has a rash and she is still fighting her cold.

Cool find.

It seems I am always in a pickle trying to either find a high chair that is not a bio-hazard when we go out to eat or I am trying to cook one up on the fly if there is nothing available. Here is a diaper bag with a hard shell that easily (so they claim) transforms into a high chair...cool.

Why can I not think of these things? Genius...if you ask me.

I will write a review when I get the goods.

She is trying...

Gotta love her...look at that little smile she gave me just now...

Poor Kailey Bear..achoooo...sniffle..sniffle

Even fancy pearls and a new headband cannot disguise the sickly little look on her face. We both came down with some sort of cold/flu thing a couple of days ago. We are doing so much better now...phew. This is only her second cold since she has been born so I guess she is lucky in that sense, but how awful it is to see your baby sick like this. She stayed on my lap ALL (and I mean ALLLLL) day wrapped in her blanket with a binky and a teddy bear. She took a couple of naps on me too. She tried to entertain me a couple of times by making her fishy face and blowing raspberries which mainly resulted in a shower of SNOT. Where do they store all this is what I want to know? She even wiped her nose on Zoe a few times while she was walking by...lovely.

Jack gets back from Florida...

I know I am very behind in my blogging, but I though I would still post some pictures from when Jack got home after being away for a month. She was so happy to see him that she even spit out her supper (shocking...I know). For 2 days I was yesterday's news. Her favorite thing he brought back for her was a sting of butterflies from the Nature Conservatory in Key West.

Not really K related but I wanted to share.

Have I mentioned what a good looking dog Miss Zoe is?

Check it out...my teeth are really moving fast. I guess that is the easy part according to the Orthodontist. The harder, more intensive, part of the treatment is opening up my bite.

New Bike and 2/4 Canines are IN!!!!

As you can see by the pictures Kailey has a new ride courtesy of her Gido and Grandma Diane. They come out last weekend to help as Jack has been away for what seems like an eternity. Thanks you so much guys!!! Mom and Denis came out the previous Saturday to spend some time with the K-Bear (oh and me too) and to drop off some of Bill's things. It was a great visit and I really appreciate the looong drive. Thanks.

On another note...I much rather have Bill here than have his stuff. I think about him often and there are a few things that Kailey does that reminds me so much of Bill. When she is eating and she wants more she holds out her arm and open and closes her hands while grunting..OH MY GOD..that is so a Bill'ism. I put the elephant from him in her nursery and one day I will tell her all about him.
Jack is back Tuesday...YAY!!! We have been keeping in contact almost daily via web cam so he and Kailey could interact with each other. I swear they have their own language involving blowing raspberries...lovely. hahaha. She lights up when he is on the monitor. She will say 'Hi Dad' sometimes too. Kailey and I have been bonding over the past few weeks and I will cherish the moments we have had together. Going out for supper with her and going on Tim Horton dates are so much fun. She even gives her honest opinion when I am trying on clothes. For example, we were in the change room and I was trying jeans on and some of the styles are way too low and so not flattering. I turned around and she grabbed her belly and shook it when she saw my, oh so lovely, muffin topper (belly hangover)...nicely done Kailey. hahahaha. Back on the rack those went.
She has been cutting her canine teeth. She has 2 of the 4 as I found out while wresting with her. Top right and bottom right and the left side I anticipate will arrive in the next day or 2. I am glad she is cutting them fast and furious but I really feel for her this time that is for sure. Poor baby. One these are in then we are done until the 2 year old molars.

Look at all the hair she has now!!! It is very curly after a bath and if she goes for a nap with damp hair...WOW!!!
