Sick Kailey Bear :-(

I hate seeing my child so sick. I feel so helpless and alone. I think her medication is starting to kick in as she slept through the night and is currently having a long nap without being disturbed by coughing. When is rains it pours it seems. We had major snowfall on top of everything. I went out last night to shovel and the drifts were up to my waist!!! We were trapped in our driveway and due to the nature of her illness (Pneumonia) I have to be sure we can get to the Hospital if we need to. I bundled her up and started shoveling and was making zero headway and my asthma was kicking in due to me being sick as well. A good Samaritan (our neighbour across the street) saw me shoveling and saw poor Kailey standing watching me and he took care of my snow and this morning moved even more snow for me. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for his help. You just never know who is going to be there for you when you are at your lowest. There are still good people in this world and I only hope that I can pay it forward in some fashion in the future. I am literally alone here and it normally doesn't hit me like this. Normally Jack isn't gone back to back like this, normally we do not have record breaking snowfall, normally Kailey is not as sick as she is...All I can say is I am living for our vacation. I cannot help but think maybe there is a reason all this is happening. What is that reason??? God knows I have had strength tested already. Any ideas?

last weekend pictures

Here are a couple of pictures from Dad, Diane and Ryley's visit. I am really behind in my postings due to Miss Kailey being so ill. :-(
They got the girls fancy dresses to wear for movie night and Kailey was thrilled to look like a Princess.

Jack is home!!!!!

Kailey is happy, Mommy is happy, Dogs are calm and happy....ahhhh, we have one week of normal and I am looking so forward to that. Jack spoiled us for Valentine's Day. Here is Kailey sporting her new 'FAWN' outfit and pretty Tinkerbell shoes he got for her from Disneyland. Major hugs and lots of kisses from Miss K. She was sooooo excited to see him and she has not let him out of her site since he got home.

I am soooo proud of her.

Today we went over to Kailey's new dayhome (well, her first time at a dayhome I should say). This lady is absolutely wonderful. Kailey took to her right away. Kailey loved the fact that Kim has 2 little poodles and I am thinking that broke the ice. We were there not for 10 minutes and Kailey told me she had to go potty so she was thrilled when she saw there was a little Dora seat all ready for her...she peed 2 other times too!!! (once when I was not there). She was doing so well and having so much fun that I told her I was going to work and I will be back soon - I left for an hour and a half. She didn't cry or look for me (that kind of stings a little). The other kids are great too. A little boy named Tristan who is 15 mths, a 3 year old girl named Zoe and a 4 year old named Catherine (who is a tad on the loud side, but a nice kid). Her house is very clean and there are so many activites set up for them to play with. She makes nutritious snacks and lunches for the kids. She was a teacher for special needs students, teaches Sunday school and is a Mom of 12 year old twins. I feel totally at ease now and the fact that Kailey wanted hugs and kisses good-bye and told me on the way home she 'go see the kids and the pretty lady tomorrow' does my heart good. What a find!!! Someone is looking out for my girl thats for sure. Kailey also really really like the fact that she has thick gorgeous hair to her bum. Kailey: 'ooooooo, you are pretty', 'Miss Kim gorgeous'. hahaha

4 hours a day...I can do it!!

Kailey's very special friend.

These 2 are inseparable. This dog is truly a gentle soul that belongs wCheck Spellingith children (not so much with Cats). She is so tolerant and loving to Kailey. She has had a rough start, but she now has more love than she can handle thanks to Miss K. Every morning Bridgey waits to jump on her bed to help get her moving (she is not a morning gal) and she tucks her in at night. It is true love.

These pictures were taken at the request of Kailey so I am going to make a collage of them to hang in her room.

Kailey - pudding master

Kailey loves to help out in the kitchen especially when she gets to make and sample the pudding...yummmmm. Lemon is her favorite. She is very proud of herself as you can see.

Snug as a Bug...

She looks so tiny in her big girl bed. I am so proud of her. She finds me to tell me when she has to go potty. "Kailey go potty...now!!!". She waits until she is bursting at the seams so I am hoping that she will learn to ask sooner although that does interfere with her playing and talking...talking...talking. hahaha.
