Not really K related but I wanted to share.

Have I mentioned what a good looking dog Miss Zoe is?

Check it out...my teeth are really moving fast. I guess that is the easy part according to the Orthodontist. The harder, more intensive, part of the treatment is opening up my bite.

New Bike and 2/4 Canines are IN!!!!

As you can see by the pictures Kailey has a new ride courtesy of her Gido and Grandma Diane. They come out last weekend to help as Jack has been away for what seems like an eternity. Thanks you so much guys!!! Mom and Denis came out the previous Saturday to spend some time with the K-Bear (oh and me too) and to drop off some of Bill's things. It was a great visit and I really appreciate the looong drive. Thanks.

On another note...I much rather have Bill here than have his stuff. I think about him often and there are a few things that Kailey does that reminds me so much of Bill. When she is eating and she wants more she holds out her arm and open and closes her hands while grunting..OH MY GOD..that is so a Bill'ism. I put the elephant from him in her nursery and one day I will tell her all about him.
Jack is back Tuesday...YAY!!! We have been keeping in contact almost daily via web cam so he and Kailey could interact with each other. I swear they have their own language involving blowing raspberries...lovely. hahaha. She lights up when he is on the monitor. She will say 'Hi Dad' sometimes too. Kailey and I have been bonding over the past few weeks and I will cherish the moments we have had together. Going out for supper with her and going on Tim Horton dates are so much fun. She even gives her honest opinion when I am trying on clothes. For example, we were in the change room and I was trying jeans on and some of the styles are way too low and so not flattering. I turned around and she grabbed her belly and shook it when she saw my, oh so lovely, muffin topper (belly hangover)...nicely done Kailey. hahahaha. Back on the rack those went.
She has been cutting her canine teeth. She has 2 of the 4 as I found out while wresting with her. Top right and bottom right and the left side I anticipate will arrive in the next day or 2. I am glad she is cutting them fast and furious but I really feel for her this time that is for sure. Poor baby. One these are in then we are done until the 2 year old molars.

Look at all the hair she has now!!! It is very curly after a bath and if she goes for a nap with damp hair...WOW!!!

Kids and Dogs...they just go together!!!

Time for Kailey to have a nap. Notice her one shoe is missing?! If she were 'awake' she would never allow this to happen.

Braces and an overdue update!

Yup...that's right I am sporting the latest fashion craze other than baby bumps. I guess it is not a fashion thing, but it makes me feel better to say that. I got the hardware installed last Wednesday and I can honestly say I am finally getting used to them. I have some minor flesh wounds inside my mouth and I am rather annoyed at the fact that my days of eating corn off the cob are over for at least 18-24 months. Those around me will consider this a blessing though...hahaha. None of my teeth are touching at all right now so eating anything is a challenge. I am managing ok considering and if I lose some weight over this I guess I can live with that. ;-) I am talking with a bit of a lisp which is funny considering one of my duties at work is a help desk. The funniest thing about this ordeal was Kailey's reaction when I smiled at her the first time. She was so happy to see me as it was a longer day than usual that I was away from her. I said hi to her and she took one look at my teeth and her smile turned into a frown and she pointed and shook her head 'no'. She then touched her teeth and wanted to take my braces off. It only took her a few hours to get used to the new look, but talk about a blow to my already fading self-esteem. If you know my smile you will notice that they have already shifted somewhat and this makes me happy. This will all be worth it in the end!!!!

Little Kailey is loving the smoothies I am drinking and she gets so excited when the blender turns on. Parker bites at my butt so this response is a welcome change...hahaha. She loves testing out these new drinks. Her favorite is the strawberry banana and she feels very important drinking it out of a 'big girl' glass rather than off a spoon. You can see in the picture some of the evidence. Kailey is loving her new found freedom (running while I work up a sweat keeping up with her) when we go to the mall. I get what we need first while she is strapped into the stroller and then at the end of the trip I let her motor. She has become quite the social butterfly which I love to see. She will walk up to peoples shopping cart and point to their items and say "WOW" and "OH" and will wave and say 'hi'. It is soooo sweet. She also is in love with this Semi-truck ride at the mall. She will grab the steering wheel and I taught her to go 'beep' beep' on the horn. She will wave at anyone passing by and when they make eye contact she chuckles and shakes her head. I put a loonie in it the other day and it started moving so she was on cloud nine thinking she was actually controlling the vehicle. There are many other, more girly, rides that totally do nothing for her. I hope this isn't a hint as to what career path she may take....hahaha. (I am hoping for Vet myself as that would come in quite handy).

In my spare time (did I honestly just say that?) I have been walking shelter dogs to get some excercise and to help break up the long days for some of these poor abandoned/abused critters. There are a few gentle puppies there right now so we took Kailey to see them a few weekends ago and she totally loved it. She was so excited and gentle with all of them and they must have sensed her kindness and thrived in her presence. She is truly my daughter. Very obvious. It is so nice to see her interact in such a caring way with animals and other children. God help them if they do not share the Semi truck though...that is another story.

Miss K is still obsessed with her shoes and will wake up from a nap asking for them right away. Imediatley following a bath she is asking for them. She knows that the sqeaks give away her position so she figured out how to walk on her tip toes to avoid getting caught playing in the dog water....grrrrrr. She seems to be in a toilet phase right now too. Lets see how fast I can throw something in the bowl and flush...lovely.

I just had to throw a Zoe picture in here!!! What a looker she is. :-)

Recent Pics

I am too zonked to write all the new and exciting things in little Kailey's life, but here are a few highlites:

-She says 'shoe'....all the time. I bought her some cute red leather shoes that squeak when she walks (not as annoying as you may think and it gives the dogs something to ponder). She can be totally naked and all she cares about covering are her feet with the shoes below. Makes it tricky to take them off for naps and bath time.
-She is still eating non stop and loving pretty well everything we put in front of her.
-Mostly down to one nap a day and with that, an earlier bed time. Usually 6:30pm and the earliest she will wake up is 7ish so we are lucky. If there is action she will stay up partying as long as her body will let her. The picture below was taken this past weekend when we had friends over (way past her bed time).
-She RUNS.
-She can summer salt...yikes.
-She has a fascination with lipstick and you can see below that her aim is really quite good.
-She tried to groom the dogs using the handle of the brush.
-She scolds (ok...screams like a Banshee) if the dogs take a cookie out of her hand. She will also chase them down and points her finger at them and everything.
-She is a dancing machine.
-She loves tuna salad.
-Still smells EVERYTHING.
-Has this annoying 'Wolverine' maneuver that we are trying to nip in the butt right away. (swipes like a cat at you for a laugh).
-Became a lot more sucky. Gives me hugs and kisses all the time....I LOVE HER SOOO MUCH!

Great visit and a few other tid bits.

Dad and Diane came out this weekend for a visit and it was a great time. Kailey was very entertaining as always. They were amazed at how mobile she is and how much she eats!!! hahaha.

She took her first stroll through our mall the other day and she made quite the scene. She was so proud to be walking like a big girl that she stopped and said 'hi' and gave her cute 'royal' wave to anyone within a 2 meter radius. She even went into Athlete's World to look around and walked up to the till to introduce herself. She made a ton of new friends and some of the older ladies became very nostalgic watching her. It was so amazing...UNTIL....she headed for the Christmas display where Santa sat. She ran as fast as her chubby thighs would take her when she spotted the lights and trees all while saying 'WOW' and 'OH'. She managed to become part of the display and when I grabbed her and picked her up that is when the other, not so sweet, side came bursting forth, although very entertaining for on-lookers. She threw a temper tantrum...lovely. I just walked away while singing the Sound of Music while she proceeded to try to kick me...awww, what a sweetheart. She managed to get control and we were off to pick up some groceries. I felt the red in my face and started sweating - lady speed stick don't fail me now!!! hahahaha.

What a keeper picture the above is hey?! Little fishy face. This is her - I need a laugh face.

Kailey and Connor's X'mas

Last night we went over to Chris and April's so Kailey and her BFF Connor could exchange gifts. They haven't seen each other in a while due to hectic schedules so we were all waiting in anticipation for their 'reunion'. Lets just say...nobody was disappointed. Kailey walked up to him and backed him up against the wall and kissed him several times and stroked his hair. The poor boy really couldn't escape her advances. It was sooooo cute. They played so hard together for the rest of the night. They had a few head-on collisions - mainly due to Kailey trying to give him bear hugs that caught him off guard. They shared toys very well together, but you could tell when they were both getting tired as they we less willing to give up their 'prize'. For some of the night Connor was chasing Kailey and she would race over to me laughing and wanting me to hug/save her. I included some pictures of the 2 of them so you can see what I am talking about. ;-)

I know you have all see Kailey sporting the sweet doggy hat that her Nana made for her. My Nan made another animal hat and this time it was a Cat. So now Kailey and Connor are stylin' together.

Christmas Eve/Day pictures.

I uploaded the pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Boxing Day and our visit with Robbie are to follow. :-)

This was an amazing Christmas and I thank my family and great friends for making this a very special time for all of us. Kailey is one lucky little girl to have such a large group of thoughtful, loving and kind people in her life.
