We just got back from taking Kailey, Parker and Zoe for a walk. What a nice day and it was so awesome walking on a bare (clear of snow and ice) sidewalk. This really excites me because this is just the beginning of what I am hoping will be part of our daily routine. I feel so refreshed and Kailey had a blast watching her dogs and her Daddy. I may not be able to manage Zoe and Parker together and the stroller but the shelties shouldn't be a problem. I will take Parker every time for sure. Today was a test to see if he would walk nicely beside me with the stroller without panicking and he was amazing. He has a new found confidence that I am so pleased about. He used to spook really bad with traffic and such, I guess he just needed to overcome some internal obstacles regarding his self esteem...hahaha.
So on to Miss K and the bottle saga. She has had three ALSOY bottles and so far so good. She stops at the four ounce mark still and needs a break, but she hasn't spit up and is a more content eater. (fingers crossed). They say that it will take three days or so to really see a difference so I am hoping she is a lot happier eating. She managed to drink some water out of a sippy cup today without my assistance. This is just a transition spout that goes on the current bottles. She loved playing with this and she thinks she is pretty darn cool when she actually got something from it herself. I think I will pick her up the actual AVENT sippy with the handles just to make it a little easier for her. She had about four or five spoonfuls of Barley cereal this afternoon as well. One more day of the barley and I get to try her on the oatmeal. I am curious to see how she likes that oats as everyone has told me that their kiddies like that the best. I will try to get a video of her drinking from her sippy because it is sooo cute. She opens her mouth and she concentrates and starts at her nose and drags it into her mouth and ta da...magic. Eyes light up and she smiles. I like the fact that this is a no drip spout as well.

Kailey visits Emergency ;-(
First off....Kailey is ok.
Thursday night I gave her Isomil, (Soy product) that she was on and tolerated before, for the last two bottles. She drank the first one around 5:30pm and loved it. She downed about 6 oz. and was rolling her eyes back in enjoyment the entire time. The next bottle all hell broke loose. While she was drinking this bottle the vomiting started. Basically she threw up the days worth of milk in one shot. I knew she was due for her routine (every week and a half) purge and I assumed this was it. I was wrong. In one hour she threw up 7 times. The last couple were straight bile and I have never seen projectile vomit like this before from her. I freaked out as her whole body was heaving and trying to get rid of everything in her. She was very frightened and was sobbing. Just when I thought there could possibly be no more to throw up she managed another round. We took her into emergency and she threw up there a couple more times and the doctor took a look at her and told us that she has a massive build up of phlem in her tummy that caused this. He said the Isomil had nothing to do with it....while I believe the theory of too much mucus in her system I do think the Isomil contributed to this as it is a thicker feed than what she is used to so mixed with phlem, her body had no choice but to purge. She was not running a fever and her lungs are clear. I told him about her diapers and he feels that she has a problem with mucus developing and building up and that is why she needs to purge and starts to refuse bottles once there is too much in her tummy. Milk Intolerance causes excess mucus, stomach pain, wheezing/coughing....she basically fits the bill for everything but skin rashes. He recommends Soy. We got home from the hospital around 11pm and she was sound asleep. She didn't even wake up when we brought her in and took her out of her snowsuit. She slept until 6:30. She was totally empty but more exhausted I guess. Poor thing. Being totally freaked out about the Isomil we got her the Good Start AlSOY and this mixed up way thinner that the other and it still has the Omegas. She downed 6.5 oz of this at 8am and she kept it down. We will see how she does with her next bottle. I knew there was something not right with her feeding but do you think any of those boob Nazi heath nurses would believe me???? Because she is a good size and gaining weight nobody even bothered to listen to the fact that, like clockwork, we would have to fight with her to take her bottle every other week. They all said that I was trying to feed her when she wasn't hungry. Oh but don't let her fall below 20 oz./day. Oh and no solids until 6 months period. Then I get the ...why isn't she on solids? from the on call Dr. Thursday. You would think that Nurses and Dr.'s would be on the same page. They totally contradict each other. I pray that this works for her. She is a really happy baby and a perfect sleeper but feeding her is a total nightmare. :-( I guess it proves what a nice nature she has because most kids would be very cranky with a chronic tummy ache.
I will keep you posted!!
On another note....
This is the sweater and hat that her Nana made for her for Easter. Soooooo cute. She wasn't really in the mood for a photo shoot as she was wanting a nap so I will post a better picture for her 5 month photo to the right. :-)

Sidewalks bare...time for walks!!!
FINALLY....enough melting has taken place that it is safe for Miss K and I to take a stroll without either getting hung up on drifts or worrying about doing a lip stand on some ice patches. I am sooo pumped about this. It is supposed to be +9 here tomorrow so I am looking forward to a nice walk. She seems to be totally comfortable in her new car seat and I am getting quite quick at transferring her to and from the stroller. I cannot imagine lifting her and the bucket now. She is growing like a weed and she is feeling heavier and heavier everyday.
She has discovered some new vocal techniques that can shatter anything glass within a 5 mile radius. I will try to capture this on video so I can share it with you. She squeals so high pitched that my ears pop if she is in the snugli. She is totally impressed by her noises so she proceeds to 'sing' any chance she gets. Mom thinks she is making contact with critters from the fifth dimension. hahaha.
She tried Barley cereal and doesn't mind it at all. Much better than the rice cereal. I also totally cheated and let her try pears....I know....not what you are supposed to do but I couldn't resist. She had just a couple of spoon fulls and smacked her little lips and now is in the habit of sucking her bottom lip so hard that she looks like Angelina Jolie when she stops. Whenever I am eating anything now, she looks at it and starts to suck her lips. Very cute. I will 'properly' start on solids in a little bit, but I need to figure out this bottle issue that is nagging at me. Takes about 4 oz. freaks and will not re-latch. You remember me writing about this before...well, the problem is still there unfortunately. She will drink happily for a week or so and then she starts to refuse her bottles and ends up in a major pain. I have tried every bottle out there with every different nipple combination to no avail. The only thing left to try is another formula. I will keep you posted. What totally shocks me is the fact that she manages to still maintain her normal sleep schedule...thank you Kailey Bear.
Teething has kicked into full gear. When I rub her gums I can feel a hard lump (bottom right). She is grabbing everything and anything to put in her mouth...including Zoe's tail....yuck. I am definitely checking her mouth everyday now that is for sure.
Her Nana (my Nan) made her the most precious sweater and hat combo that makes her look like a little dolly. I will take some pictures of her in it tomorrow. Very very cute. There is nothing like handmade....wow.

5 months today!!!
Happy 5 month Birthday little girl!!!
I will update her picture to the right soon. Once I feel 100% I will dress her in a fancy dress and bring out the funny faces and camera.
It would appear that Miss K is taking after her Mommy in her music choices. I played my ABBA Gold CD and she started kicking and laughing. She loves it!! Jack is horrified by this of course. When he comes home he plays his music for her....hahahaha. No doubt this kid is into music in a big way and I am so thrilled by this and with our dramatically different tastes in sound she will be well rounded in this area for sure. With those long fingers of hers I am hoping she will pick up an instrument in the future. Music is a big big part of our daily routine, actually her nightly routine too. I guess it is safe to say the only time there isn't something playing is while we are sleeping. What is totally perfect is I can sing all I want to her and she has no clue how horrible my voice actually is...win win situation.

K-Bear's New Ride!!!
Her car seat is in and we already took it for a spin today. This one should do her for a while!! It is HUGE. The shoulder straps are on the lowest possible setting so she has three more heights to go before she is too big for this one. This is good until she reached 58 lbs so I think we are OK for a while. Bye Bye little bucket....We will certainly miss some aspects of the bucket seat that is for sure but what do you do? This seat has it all. It even has Velcro to hold back the straps when you are putting her in. Very very nice. Shopping will be a challenge as she is too young to safely sit up in a shopping cart so I guess it will be whatever I can fit in the stroller basket for now. I need to throttle back on how much gear I put on her...yikes. I totally don't know what she should be wearing in +6 weather. This snowsuit with the hat was over kill as she was one hot cookie when we got home. That is why I looooved the bunting bag so much.
-There is no such thing as an 'inside voice'. Loud squeals and babble fill all four levels of this house and the dogs have nowhere to hide anymore...hahaha.
-As quick as I do up her diaper she pulls the tabs off opening it up....grrrrrr. Of course she is smiling the entire time too.
-She likes drinking water (like a puppy) from a glass. She gets so excited in the snugli if I had a glass in my had she shakes her head back and forth and shoves her hand in her mouth. I hold the glass up and she 'attacks' it and out comes the tongue.
I haven't updated the site yet this week as I have some sort of cold/flu thing and I am just starting to feel better. Thankfully Kailey did not get this bug. It is very hard to look after a little one when you are sick as a dog. I am so lucky she is such a good baby.
Sunday afternoon I had to work registration for the dog club (likely where I caught this bug) so that meant that Jack would be alone with Kailey for approx. three hours. You could see the fear on his face when I was getting ready because the last time what a total nightmare as you all remember. I came home after being gone for almost 4 hours and they both we smiling. Jack had her in the snugli and they were rocking out to Disney music. hahaha. She was awesome for him and I was totally relieved....Phew.

Laughing machine today!!
Well, she must be back feeling like a million baby bucks because she has been laughing from the time she got up this morning until now!! She takes short breaks for eating and sleeping. She is one happy little chicky poo. We took her to the movie rental place with us last night so that is another first for her. It has been 5 months since we rented anything so it was very easy for a change to find a few movies we haven't seen. She really likes going to new places so she was all big eyes and smiles. This is funny....Jack just walked by the computer room with her looking like a Kailey pancake. She was totally out with arms dangling to the side and a binky installed, I guess all her laughing tired her out. ;-)
She is totally into the Jumperoo now and loves the fact that she is more at eye level with the dogs. They perform for her and she starts bouncing and squealing. This is a pretty good action shot I took the other day. I also like this picture because you can get a good look at how long her legs are now. She also loves jumping in a dress as I guess it provides more freedom of movement. At one point she pulled her dress over her head and was jumping. This is her new snugli that provides a ton more support that is supposed to eliminate back problems and be a more comfortable ride for the baby. It has a padded piece that goes around my waist to support my back. It seems to be working out quite well. It also has adjustable leg openings so if she is wearing a bulkier outfit or just tights it is way more comfortable for her. This is good until she is 26 lbs. , although I cannot see packing her around when she is that big.
I took little Parker out for a loooong walk this afternoon and it was very very icy out. We got just enough snow this am for the ice to be covered up so each step is a surprise. I managed to stay upright but Parker wiped out a couple of times when he was jumping up. When this dog is happy he heels vertically for some of the walk.
Here is an embarrassing but funny story. I was walking Zoe yesterday and we were following snow mobile tracks up the hill by our place. I was thinking to myself how great it is that I can walk on top of the snow now .....I spoke too soon. As we got to a massive mound of snow by the tennis courts I felt some give underneath me and very shortly after that I was up to my waist and stuck...lovely. Like all people would do I immediately scanned the area for people watching. I could have melted the snow from the heat of my very red face. Of course Zoe thought I was playing so she comes bounding over and kicks snow in my face and then runs the other direction and comes back and play bows and starts to dig....thanks for all the help, remind me to stop feeding you....hahaha. I managed to get out but I had to walk through this to get out of it. What a moron I am sometimes.

Kailey shot update
***Thurs - update. I figured will all the naps and lack of milk(24 oz) she would have had a rough night, she is still sleeping and it is 8:50am!! I guess her way of dealing with feeling crummy is to sleep it off. I sure hope she wakes up feeling better.
**update. I guess there was a delayed reaction because she has been fighting a fever that included heat rash earlier this evening. She is not wanting to take much of her bottles either. It started to hit her around noonish and she hasn't been herself since. she has a stomach ache as well so all in all this time around appears to be harder on her than her last set of shots. Poor thing. I think I will have her sleep next to me in the playpen tonight. Maybe it will comfort her.
What a trooper she is. She had a bit of a fever last night but that was it. She crashed at 10pm and slept until 8:15 this morning and woke up full of life. I cannot believe that she is tougher than I am. Jack found this totally hilarious that a 4 and a half month old gets three needles and is not complaining and I get one needle in the arm and I was whiny last night. It hurt though. I think the problem was that I carry Kailey with my left arm all the time and the muscle stiffened up quite a bit...boo hoo...poor me. hahahaha!!! She bruises so easy though. She has thumb size bruises at all the needle insertion points.
Her new car seat should be here Friday and I am so excited. That is quick, I ordered it Monday night from a company in Ontario who ships with Fed-Ex for free if you spend over $100. What a nice comfortable ride she will have - I hope she feels the same way. She still fits the bucket and will for a bit longer, but I do know that the height restriction is 29" so she is just 2 or so inches shy of that according to her appointment. So putting the bucket away will be my next emotional task. :-( First the bassinet now the infant seat...

Lungs working...check!!!
WOW...
Kailey had her second set of shots this afternoon and I swear she remembered from last time. She was awesome in the waiting room and even made friends with a 6 mth old baby. She was full of smiles and gabbing to pretty well anyone that made eye contact with her. When we were called we started down the hallway to the exam room and I noticed she was tensing up in my arms and I thought it was just my imagination. The minute we stepped through the door into the room the screaming started. Blood curdling, inconsolable, massive tears, red faced screaming began and didn't stop until Jack took her out of the room to calm her down so the Nurse could talk to me. He brought her back in the room and she went crazy. This was all before the needles!!! It was obvious she wasn't going to calm down so the Nurse continued with her exam. Kailey peed on the scale for her too!!! hahahaha. What was nice was all this screaming meant for a really quick discussion time. Thank you Kailey Bear!! I didn't have to hear about nursing or any of that other stuff. I am sure the nurse was thinking....wow...must get screaming kid outta here fast.
I ended up getting a needle too. I was cornered so I caved....hahaha. I am good until 2017 now.:-(
The nurse said there was no way she could remember, but by the end of the visit she was convinced she actually did. She calmed down in the waiting room and by the time I was driving home with her she was admiring herself in the mirror and giggling. When we got home all the dogs wanted to sniff her and she broke out into massive belly laughs. She drank a 7 oz. bottle and is napping right now....awwwww. The picture in the sleeper was taken right after getting home from her shots!!! The snugli one was taken yesterday but it was too funny not to share. Look at all that drool.
So here are her stats:
2.5 mths
weight: 13.4 lbs
height: 23.5"
head: 40
approx 4.5 mths (10 days shy of 5 mths)
weight: 16.8 lbs
height: 27" (not accurate though as Kailey was in a kicking fit) ;-)
head: 42.6
She is off the charts for height if this is accurate and is maintaining the 90th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for head circumference. She was very happy with her progress and told us to definitely wait until 6 months for cereal as she is actually drinking less than she figured for her age so she doesn't need it. She made a comment about her head and I told her the Dr. said it is nothing to worry about and that was the end of that.

Busy Sunday
What a busy time we had yesterday. We took Kailey 'on tour'. The usual hot spots in Cold Lake: The mall, wal-mart & the car wash!!! Wow. She loved it though. She thought it was totally hilarious when we were trying shoes on her. She had this massive belly laugh every time we picked her foot up. She was awake for most of it and didn't seem to mind being taken in and out of the car seat and into the stroller. She really likes riding in the stroller like a big girl....so much more freedom I guess. We put her in a Roots blanket track suit that she got for Christmas from Char, Ron and Cousin Julie and it was perfect. Thanks guys!! I remember opening this and thinking, WOW....she has a while before she wears this....hahahaha. We did an 'oops' with the time change. I forgot to change the truck clock so we were actually an hour and half past her normal feeding time. What a little trooper. She totally inhaled the bottle when we got home though and then later totally threw up all over her crib, she even managed to get the bumper pads. :-( All this action at 10pm when she was just closing her eyes for sleep. Poor thing. Not sure if it was gas from the earlier bottle or the time had come to clear her system out. Who knows. She ended up spending the night next to me in her playpen and she slept great. I, of course, had Insomnia and was trying to toss and turn quietly so I didn't wake her up. It was awesome being able to look in at her. She goes for her 2nd set of shots tomorrow and I am not looking forward to that, but I cannot wait to see how long she is. I tell her she has a model's body...like Tyra. hahaha.
She totally loves being in just a shirt and onsie so she can check her toes out!!!
I tried to get a video of her laughing at the dogs wrestling by my feet while she was in the snugli. Totally hilarious and all they have to do is start playing and she laughs like crazy. Her laughing gets them in performance mode so everyone is tired after this. I had tears running down my face listening to her. I caught the tail end of her laugh. Click the link below.

Father Daughter Outing!!!
Jack took Kailey out for a while today for the first time by himself!! They went to Wal-Mart and she got to ride in the stroller like a big girl. I guess she was good as gold for him and was just thrilled to be at her very favorite place on earth (man this kid needs to get out of Cold Lake & experience a real mall...hahaha). It is so much easier to keep the bucket in the truck and take her to it rather than carrying her and the bucket together. She is one heavy Chicky poo and I do know her weight as I took her to the clinic yesterday on one of our many stops. I am going to wait and post her numbers after her appointment Tuesday. Lets just say I was totally blown away when I looked at the number on the scale so unless her clothes weigh more than 2 lbs. I was wayyyy off in my prediction. No wonder my back is killing me. She is absolutely the perfect size and shape in my opinion. She is adorable... period. Why do people always have a comment??? Being a Mother only solidifies what I have always suspected...people suck. I rather have a big healthy happy baby girl than a tiny skinny cranky baby any day. I knew those genes would have to kick in sooner or later. We are searching for the next stage of car seat so I am busy researching and reading all the reviews on all the brands. This will be a big purchase and will be used for a long time so I want to make sure I get one that works for us and of course offers the most safety. She also has a very long torso so I want to make sure there are ample setting for the shoulder straps. My little girl is growing up way too fast - so cliche I know, but where did that tiny little baby go??

Ahhhhhhhh Fresh Air!!!
Today I took Kailey for a walk in the stroller sans infant bucket. She looooved it and then fell asleep of course. hahaha. The weather was awesome today, about +5, so I thought I better seize the moment before the next cold snap hits. I had every intention of taking her to the mall but with the new adjustments I made to the car seat I think we are out of expansion room and she was sporting a polar fleece top today. She may be too big for this bucket now. I will get Jack to take a peak at it. I had to adjust the shoulder strap height to the top and that may have taken up too much of the strapping. It seemed fine yesterday so I must have done something wrong. I know this is a smaller bucket than most of the Gracos and at the time I thought it would be more supportive for her so I didn't care....I guess I should have taken a closer look. The manual says that if your child is not 22 lbs (she is definitely not) but no further adjustments can be made then you can switch the system to a three point harness. There is a ton of give when I do this but the 5 point system is what the 'masses' say it the best. She also has that bulky bunting bag in there too so that may have to go. I just wanted the bucket to last to the end of winter then we were going to upgrade to the real thing. Pleeeeeease Kailey bear hold off getting bigger for just a few short months. hahahaha. I am getting sick of lifting her and the bucket together, so maybe this is a sign. Also, being cooped up in this for a three hour drive to Edmonton may be too uncomfortable. I am so glad I can share my internal debates with you all. hahahaha.
Anyway, she loved the walk and didn't cry at all being dressed up in a ton of layers. I think I may have gone a little overboard as she was a little sweaty when we got back. What a mess it is out there...so much slush now. I took a few pictures so you all could appreciate the difficulty one would have pushing a stroller through all of this snow!!!
Yesterday we went to the Courtney House by the beach for the first time since she was born so the owner and a couple of the girls got to see her AWAKE and smiling. We then headed off to The Woof Inn to big up her big hairy brother Marley from being groomed. Snugli dancing was also part of the day too. I caved and ordered one with lumbar support because this is really casing my neck, shoulders and back to ache. OUCH!!!

Kailey & Zoe
Where is my Mommy???? :-(
It would appear that I need to leave the house without my little sidekick more than I have been and for longer periods of time. I went to the club last night to Judge the Puppy Kindergarten classes so I was gone for approx. 3 hours and I guess that was too long for Kailey. When I came home I took one look at Jack and Kailey's faces and I knew it didn't go very well. Her face was very red and her eyes were swollen and glossy looking. She took one look at me and her bottom lip came out as far as it could. I took her from Jack and she nestled into my neck and didn't move. I guess she was playing with him fine for the first part of the night and then she got antsy and then came the inconsolable crying for over an hour. There was no comforting her apparently. Jack finally had to lay her in her bed with a binky and let her cry herself to sleep as there literally was nothing left to try. He said he has never heard her cry like this. He looked like he had been through a war and was very sad at the fact there was nothing he could do. The last couple of times I have gone out she would start to get cranky and look for me, but I always came home within 1.5-2 hours MAX. I think she was totally blown away that I was not the one to get her from her nap or that I was gone for soooo long 'in her eyes'. She drank part of her bottle while I was gone so I am happy for that because that is aways touchy especially if she is so upset. Of course I felt totally guilty but I cannot be here 24/7 and being with all those cute puppies was a total blast for me. I lost my voice as I am not used to talking to that many adults. I bet if I had my 'Kailey' voice I would have been ok...hahaha. She is still sleeping so I am glad she is having a nice sleep and I am hoping she wakes up her usual happy self. Jack, I think, aged a few years last night just looking at him. The cry he described is the one that gets my heart racing and palms sweaty...it is a terrible cry. I heard it when she got her shots. She actually goes for her second set next week...lovely. I will find out what she weighs and how long she is so that is always fun to report.
Oh she is waking up...this kid is like clockwork...8:32am. lol

Everyone got a bath today!!!
Well, the time has come to either upgrade her to the big tub or move her little tub in there. WHAT A MESS!! Poor Zoe got a scoop full of water on her sleeping head and I ended up in my underwear (what a thought I know) due to splashing Kailey. I had to use almost all the towels in the house to clean up all the water. WOW. Arms are the worst right now....she actually scoops water out and watches it fall to the counter or ground. Oh what fun this is. ;-)

Surfer Baby
Jack got this for her from the Gap before we knew what we were having. What is so funny is all the 'unisex' stuff we bought all seems to be rather boyish now. Is it because she has such girly clothes? Not sure, but this is a really cute outfit that she will have outgrown by the time Summer rolls around :-(. I guess we didn't really do the math correctly though as it is a 3-6 mth.

Kailey visits The Woof Inn
Yesterday afternoon I packed up Miss K and we headed off to the doggy shop to visit Jackie. She was pretty cranky to begin with as I interrupted a nap thinking she would just carry on with it in the car seat...wrong. She slept on the way there but once we got there she was WIDE AWAKE and fighting a nap. She wasn't really bad just a bit fussy so I stuck it out and she managed to have a 20 min cat nap. She woke up much happier and with her sense of humor in tact...yay!! She drank a bottle there as well as we ended up staying there for over three hours. She looked pretty cute in her bucket on top of the grooming table. A lady I haven't seen since she was born stopped by the shop so I got to show her off too. It was soooooo nice to get out of the house for more than just the usual quick shopping trip. It was also very nice to visit with Jackie...what a perfect friend she is....I mean I couldn't ask for more. I feel very lucky to know her as she is 100% in my corner at all times and it is a rarity for me to trust somebody whole heartily. True friends are hard to come by and I know no matter where we end up we will always stay connected. :-) Not many people appreciate my sense of humor so I have to keep her...hahaha.
Have you ever tried to trim a baby's toe nails??? My God that is not easy. She kicks likes crazy pretty well all waking hours so I tried to trim them in the bathtub after she was tired from all the splashing. I managed, but give me a squirmy puppy any day.
The pictures are of Kailey in her new long john style PJ's. She saw cousin Robbie in some (plumber butt and all) and she thought she might like to try a pair. (It helps me justify getting her something she totally doesn't need if I talk in the third person). They are so cute and she loves them. Very stretchy soft cotton. The best part in Kailey's eyes is the fact that she has bare feet...ahhhh...stretch those little piglets K-Bear. She will be the toddler that yanks her socks off for sure. It would appear that most of her pictures as of late are her jamming her fist or bib in her mouth. Teething has begun. Red (almost blistered looking) cheeks, buckets of drool, gums that swell and the need to shove EVERYTHING in her mouth.
I gave Zoe a 'pet'icure today. (shop talk for a paw clean up). I trimmed all the fur around her paws top and bottom and did her nails and she looks like a million bucks. The poor thing was coming in from outside carrying a ton of snow in her feet so the time had come. She loved the attention and just sprawled out with her eyes closed while I worked away at her. She is an amazing dog and Kailey just totally adores her. That, believe it or not, was very therapeutic for me too.
Of course, I forgot the camera yesterday. :-(

Good Morning to ME!!!!
YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!
I slept through the night without one wake up/Insomnia issue whatsoever. I guess all that snugli dancing really payed off. If that is what did it you know I will be strapping on Miss K and jiving all day long. I was totally beat last night but feeling so good. Maybe the lack of physical activity (no dog classes, no long walks) really caused me some grief. I figured running around after her was enough exercise but I guess not. This was the best sleep I have had in the last 2 months!! I feel so different, so alert and my nagging headache is gone for now. I am hoping I am not jinxing myself here but I had to share.
I also wanted to share these pictures of Kailey taken first thing this morning when she was waking up. This is the face that I get the pleasure of seeing every morning. She is always happy and smiling when I peek in at her. She 'tells' me all about her night and the dreams she may have had. I love this time with her. She is at her best first thing in the morning. The other picture is of her telling me to put the camera down and feed her...stat. hahaha.
I also learned a really good lesson about making the kissy face within her arms reach. She grabbed a hold of my lips and wouldn't let go. She twisted the one so bad I thought for sure it would be swollen. UMMMMM...yeah....note to self. I should know she is always a little wild after her bath when I am towelling her off and getting her ready for her massage. Wow, would it ever be nice to have this star treatment. lol
Here is a video of her with the hiccups and her telling me how totally annoyed she is with them.!!

Kailey's two favorite things
Right now the Snugli seems to be the best thing since the invention of binkies in Kailey's eyes. The Jumperoo is a close second. We have started snugli dancing...great exercise for me and it keeps her entertained and excited. I turn up the music (just cannot do the kiddie music thing yet) so we listen to the hit list or music from the 80's on the satellite radio stations and we dance all over the house. If the neighbours saw they would sell tickets I am sure. Picture me in my PJ's, little one strapped to the front with a ton of toys hanging from her (usually in bare feet), a few Shelties and a big Mutt following me while I am shakin what my momma gave me!! I work up a sweat and she crashes pretty hard after that. I need to upgrade the snugli if we are going to keep doing this as this one has very little back support (it was the cheapest I could find...that will teach me). There also can be used as a hip carrier and is good for 35 lbs, although I cannot imagine carrying a 35 lbs baby all over the house. All I know she loves it and starts getting excited the minute she sees it.
She is drooling up a storm these days...YUCK. Her shirts are soaked by the end of the day. She is making all sorts of new LOUD noises. The latest one sounds as though she is gagging and she ends with a squeal. Very cute but also very tiring. This brings me to sleeping....I was up last night from midnight until 3:30am and then got up at 6:30 am and pretty well stayed up....lets see, that is 5 hours of sleep. :-( I am hoping all the baby dancing pays off and I am so wiped out that not even a low flying F-18 can wake me...please...please. Kailey has this new annoying thing she does when you are trying to feed her. She drapes her arm over the top of the bottle or she uses both hands and tries to hold it herself and in the process manages to pull it out of her mouth....grrrrrr. She also likes to cover her eyes with her hands so I am not even sure I am in the right spot until I hear the smacking. Just hold her hands away you say....yeah right. :-) Anyway, she is crashed out for another nap after a round of dancing, Jumperoo and practice sitting and rolling. She was doing much better before with the rolling but I have been slacking off on the tummy time and it shows. Sitting is just so exciting though.
