This update will not include a photo as I have officially used all the AA's (including robbing from remotes) in the Ruggiero household. I plan to take Kailey out today so that is definitely on my list, along with...hmmmm....formula - just for something different. lol
Side sleeping update:
Since re-positioning her to her side for all her naps and bedtime I have noticed a drastic change in her head shape already. She has not fought the new position at all so everything as far as ease of putting down for naps and bedtime is the same, if not easier. The first night she woke up once at 11pm but was fast asleep by the time I checked in on her. She woke up earlier than usual (not crying but talking) but she did maintain that position for 7.5 hours. I rolled her on her back and she then slept until her usual wake up time. The next night was the same except she didn't stir at all once she was sleeping, but she still woke up earlier than usual because she thought she couldn't roll to her back by herself in the crib?! She rolls all the time on the bed, pack n' play or on her play mat but those are a lot softer than the crib so maybe easier? So yesterday we spent some time practicing rolling to her back in the crib...Ta Da...I heard some stirring at 6:30 am(I have the monitor turned way up until I get a Angel Care monitor so I literally hear every breath now) I peaked in and she was kicking her little body over to her back and was sound asleep again. Not sure why she thought that she couldn't do this in the crib unless she is so sleepy she doesn't have the same strength that she does with a little nap during the day...who knows, but it is nice that she can roll herself back or fwd without my assistance.
Packing stuff away:
Yesterday was hard on this Momma. I took apart Kailey's Bassinet while crying like a baby the entire time. Why was that so hard?...in fact, I am welling up right now thinking about it. I have been avoiding this, but the time had to come as we are running short on space now. All the 'firsts' in that little bed. Her first grin, her first sneeze, her first thumb sucking (on the outside), Momma peaking in every 10 minutes and watching her sleep, bonding over the 3am feeding and being able to reach in and touch her anytime I wanted. I remember looking in at her the first night having her home and I couldn't believe how tiny she was in this 'massive' (actually tiny) bed and thinking how can I possibly be totally responsible for this little being, but at the same time wanting to take this challenge on with every ounce of my self, more than anything else in my life. A ton of memories in this frilly little bassinet...a ton...sniff.
I also decided to pack away her 0-3 month onsies and upgrade her to the 3-6. Once we got digging I am glad we did as we have 23 in this size some of which are sooooo cute and funny, standby for pictures....hahaha.
Laughing Update:
It would appear that her laugh is changing to more of a belly laugh that would put most grown men to shame. The first time she did this was a few days ago when Jack was holding her out to me. She was smiling up a storm and kind of giggling so I grabbed her little feet and said...jump...jump...jumperoo. Massive giggling followed. Jack and I just died laughing and we tried to get her to do it over and over but after the third time she gave us the look like....those are free anymore and it will cost ya!!
Feeding Update:
She is drinking about 28ish ounces in five bottles now. She is also starting to eye my food like a starving stray puppy. I feel so guilty while I am eating and she is in her Bumbo on the table watching me. She stares at my bowl and watches my spoon go to my mouth and then puts her hand in her mouth and starts sucking - she just finished her bottle too. I thought she wanted more milk so I made a 2 oz bottle and she freaked...no she just wants my taco's or salad...hahaha. I was holding her on my hip and eating a cracker and she reached out and tried to steal it. So while I eat I have 6 sets of eyes on me at all times. Two sets are Blue...no, not Jack...Parker dude. hahaha.
Drool factory:
My God can this kid drool. She drips now!! She shoves everything she can grab into her mouth. Her blanket animal gets it's legs sucked on daily, face clothes, my hands if they happen to go by her mouth, her rubber duckies in the bathtub...literally everything!! Her hands are totally wet all the time and she loves to discover my face with them although, she grabbed a hold of my chin and twisted and ended up scratching it....lesson learned. My hair must be tied back or else mit fulls end up in her mouth.
Ok, I better stop before I bore you all to tears. Sorry this one was so long!!
